It’s not just Summer, it’s everyone who has donated, however big or small the amount. I want you to have some idea of what it means to me.
For example, today I’ve been looking at flats, and because of the donations I’ve received, I know I don’t have to worry about where I’m going to find the deposit or the month’s rent they invariably expect up front. And when I get in there I can buy spoons and plates and a duvet and shoes. That might not be some people’s ideas of rich, but when you have nothing, anything is a whole lot more.
And to quote Lea Hernandez: To those who want to help with money, and can’t right now: I can tell you from experience money is still needed six months and even a year on. What you can, when you can. If you can’t, you can’t.
