It’s not just new to me, I think it’s the first place I’ve ever lived that wasn’t old. So no fireplace, and the kitchen, though small, is so efficiently designed that it has much more usable storage space than my old flat.

This is my bedroom, with a view of my workstation. The rocket-shaped lava lamp is supposed to go in the living room (it goes with the curtains) but I don’t have anywhere to put it yet.
It’s a work in progress, but I wanted all those people who donated money and stuff to see some of what I’d achieved with it. Everything you see in this room was either given directly or bought with donated money – everything from the pillows and pillowcases to the room itself. That’s some kind of awesome.
Originally I wrote all this in a much more factual, blow by blow account of the whole moving experience, but then I realised that this was how it felt.
And that was not only truer than the factual details, but way more entertaining.
