I realised the only way the last panel would work here was if it was a photo. If I’d drawn it, I’m not sure anyone would have believed it.
To give you a little insight into the stylisation that’s inevitable for such a constrained format of four panels, while the text here is reasonably accurate, in reality Mari’s dialogue was not said by Mari and she wasn’t watching the Royal Wedding on my TV while I was asleep. The conversation comes from one I had online, but if I’d done it that way you’d only get pictures of me staring at a computer and someone responding who has never been mentioned in the comic. Reality is so much more untidy and complicated than gag strips.
