The thing about really bad toothache is the way everything else goes out of focus. It demands your attention to the point that everything else around you seems far away.
Anyhow, the good news is that the doctor gave me some painkillers that worked, and after a couple of days the antibiotics did their thing, so it’s now a minor irritant, rather than a OHMYGHODTHEPAINTHEPAINMAKEITSTOP. Fingers crossed next week I won’t have any health problems and I might even get some drawing done.

I’m glad you’re on the mend, Karen…looking forward seeing your take on what life throws at you next…
Yikes, hope you are feeling better soon.
“I pray thee peace, I will be flesh and blood;
For there was never yet philosopher
That could endure the toothache patiently,
However they have writ the style of gods,
And made a push at chance and sufferance.”
I haven’t had toothache (yet *knock wood*) but I HAVE had injuries/surgeries to my cornea, and it is similarly a very
amount of pain that flushes all thought from your brain.
When I injured my cornea due to problems with some
experimental contact lenses, all I could do to deal with it was
to walk in a circle until we could contact my eye doctor and
get me in to see him. Aiee. Luckily corneas heal quickly, but
that first day is a lulu …
I hope you’re continuing to feel better – I’ll be thinking of you!
Aye, I understand that… I am in the midst of a root canal operation that will be finalized next Thursday. The pain before was quite horrendous and as it is now… well, let us say I expected to feet no pain as the nerves of the offending tooth were removed. But it seems it can still feel some pain. Not as strong… but there, you know? just there…
Sadly, I still have lingering pain in my lower jaw after a couple of root canals on the same tooth (which now has a crown over it). Fortunately, topical use of scotch as a painkiller does help alleviate the worse of the discomfort.
OUCH!!! AN when I say “I Feel Your Pain”, I really mean it.
I have recently had major surgery (total knee replacement) and 2 of my teeth broke during the recovery time. Due to the potential of blood-borne infections they won’t touch my teeth until 6 months after the latest surgury, that puts in in August sometime.
It’s put up with it or take painkillers until I become a vegetable. Some choices, yah…
