My drawing is still being more difficult than really seems necessary, so I decided to try something different and for the first time inked the whole thing digitally. It’s an interesting change, but I don’t think I’m ready to give up my beloved drawing board just yet.
EDIT: Anyone know where I can find costume reference for Russian evening dress circa 1916?

i like rasputina. ‘cage in a cave’, ‘you don’t own me’. she does one of the best renditions of ‘why don’t you do right’ ever.
i also prefer your board-drawn comics. they are special for being hand-drawn. the digital version is nice though. the main thing is you keep on drawing b/c you have a wonderful gift.
btw- i love the logo you made for etchi. and he gave me one of your teeshirts. woot!
It looks really good! Great job Karen!
Looks good, but there’s something about actual liquid ink on paper that just can’t be reproduced digitally.
I know it’s silly, but I rather enjoyed the Anastasia animated movie. =^-^=
The Rasputin movies sound interesting … I wonder if I could find them …
I figure you could drink vodka watching these movies to get in the mood…what would be an appropriate snack to eat while watching them, though?
Cream cakes, obviously.
Anyone who had to be poisoned, then shot multiple times, then thrown into a river to drown (’cause he still wasn’t dead) is worth researching!
I have “A Concise History of the Russian Revolution” on my bookshelf at home. I can look tonight and see if there’s anything scan-worthy in it.
thank you!

Hi! here’s some sites with a good amount of vintage dress images from the 1910 decade. They arent specifically Russian but possibly good for a basic general idea?
Thanks. I’ll check them out!
I havent a clue about fashion, so I dont know if any of these will be of use. Fingers crossed.

Not that I’d trust the costumes for reference, but I thought you might like more research material.
I like the song by Boiled In Lead.
covered by Boiled In Lead (among many others); originally by Boney M.
