I don’t read many webcomics, but one of my favourites right now is The Adventures of Superhero Girl by Faith Erin Hicks. She is also responsible for the only exception to my no zombies rule.

So, Karen, what did you think of the movie, stupid name aside..?
Magic Ring Guy sounds like a better name to me. I still prefer Hawkgirl’s boyfriend from Justice League though
He’s named after another guy called Green Lantern, who also had a magic wishing ring. But, the first guys rings power source looked just like a lantern, and he even had a picture of a lantern on his chest.
It makes perfect sense.
Oh. Wait a minute…
It didn’t just look like a lantern, it actually was a lantern. And the ring was made of a small fragment of that lantern.
The more you think about ANY comic book superhero, the less sense they make.
I have not seen the movie, because the track-record of
comic-book-superhero movies is so lousy. I’ll wait ’til I can get it on
Quickflix, and probably not bother even then. The whole “powered by the will” thing about the Green Lanterns kind of bothers me anyway. It’s a bit too Leni Riefenstahl-esque for my taste.
You are evil. Now I have another strip to read! Argh! (Thank you, actually. *grin*)
And not just any strip, but another strip by F.E.H.!
I read GL as a kid and wondered, too, why the hell not steal the lantern or hypnotize GL and use his will as your own and other evil villain plots.
Akima – love the Leni Riefenstahl remark. Nice!!!
