And this is a lot of why I’ve been missing lately. Things are a bit more under control now, so posting should get back to a more regular schedule. Fingers crossed.
I’ve suffered from this exact problem soooooo many times. I wish I could come up with a solution for it :/
There are many-many people out here (in the world) who have been in some situation simular to your, at one time or another … and they (slowly) got out of the stuck-in-a-rut mind-set in their own ways.
You just take your time and do what YOU need to do to get yourself back on course. It may take a start of some very simple things.
(get out of bed … brush/comb hair … get something to nibble on … go back to bed) (I know … over simplified.)
When you feel ready, you add another task to the list.
Before you know it … you should feel about normal and you can be Proud of yourself.
I am (and others out here) routing for you.
Glad to see you back, Karen…
I can certainly relate to over thinking things…it’s why it takes me so long to write a simple email!
I live a huge part of my life like that. I wish deeply that Ihad some moderately reliable way to deal with it that I could share, but I don’t. Sometimes it helps me to get mad- to imaging and/or externalize my insecurities and yell at them. If you decide to try that, take a tip and don’t do it when co-workers are around…
If it helps, I find some of your simpler stuff more powerful., and I am happy to see rough drafts.
BTW this comic touches my heart.
If I’m following your posts you’ve just finished an Octobriana and a Womanthology piece. If only my procrastination binges were so productive!
I know this feeling well.
