I don’t shake the tip jar very often because, to be perfectly honest, I don’t do Planet Karen to make money, I do it because I want to. But on the other hand, If everyone who regularly reads it chipped in five dollars a year (if I’ve got my sums right) I could actually make a living at it.
As it is, a few people now and then donate money or hit the Give Karen a Thing button and pick out something nice off my Amazon wish list, and that makes me feel happy and appreciated. And when I’ve been in real trouble and asked for help, the response has been awesome. And not awesome in the rilly cool way, but as in after two years I still find it hard to get my head around the response and support I got after my house burned down.
So I am totally not about guilting anyone into paying for my art supplies, my eyeliner, or my army of tiny daleks. Just reminding you that the tip jar is there and if you feel like dropping something in it, that would be a cool thing to do.
